Good evening Hawkfan. Bright blessings to you.

Welcome my friend, welcome to the most empowering and enabling bunch of folk you are ever likely to meet!

What a great big step of courage and self belief you have made. Addiction is so very personal to each and every one of us. The only real thing we can be sure of is that it will ruin our lives before is does away with us!....(Well that was nice n cheerful!).....i have an inkling that by the time we all arrive here....we know that Tryn! (Never does any harm to reiterate it)

So who is Hawkfan? I live in dear ole Blighty, i am an alcoholic staying sober a day at a time with the most amazing support in the world here. I used to be an astronaut but sobriety brought me back down to earth...(oh dear!), seriously my friend, you are sooo in the right place if you wish to knock alcohol on the head.

You say "any questions anyone has"...yes....i have some questions.

Do you recognise the enormous and courageous step you have taken? Are you aware that you can now reclaim your life back? What do you do with yourself Hawkfan?, (i keep wanting to write Hawkwind!).......whatever it is, i am quite sure you wish to be so very good at it. How can i say that?

Anyone that reaches out for change, are changing already.

Welcome Hawkfan. I am really looking forward to getting to know you.

Be peaceful, be healthy and be strong. Loveness to you Hawkfan

hawkfan12, Welcome to the site. You can do this if you want to stay sober more than anything else. None of us got to where we wanted to get sober on a winning streak.

I work a program where I only worry about staying sober just for today, because I had given up thinking I would never drink again. I always failed at stopping forever. When the urge to drink comes just try I think through that urge to drink. You can do this.

Share more about yourself. We will not judge you.

Hello & welcome.

My cousin plays american football and he supports your team! Even though we live in England. He is pretty obsessed.

Hope you are having a great day, you can talk about anything here, no one judges, everyone is great and cares.

Hope you stick around

Peace x

Hawkfan, One of my very good friends lived in Alaska for many years. She is my age, late 60's and she has a tatoo of a Seattle seahawk! Welcome to our chat room. Is that term outdated?

Welcome back, Hawkfan. Keep on reading people's stories here -- lots and lots to learn.

I don't follow the game much until late in the season but the Seahawks are my team too.

Keep taking it day by day. It can work!

Hawkfan,
Welcome! I've come to find sobriety is a lifestyle for me. People, places and things can all be triggers to drink.

We climb mountains one step at a time. So to with sobriety. One.foot in front of the other, day by day and before you k n ow you will have accumulated sober time.

Thank you for not giving up on yourself. Keep hope alive.

Good evening Hawkfan. Bright blessings to you.

How goes it for you this wonderful day?

Thumbs up, or thumbs down? (By the way that is attributed to the Romans and never happened!).

As I Am Trying alludes to, imagine what you could do with an extra 1/3 of your talents/days/gifts?

As we have here in dear ole Blighty, at this time of year, that 1/3 could be spent employed as a "Christmas Tree lights untangler and gift wrapper "superb" for Walmart.", (other salubrious capitalist ventures are available)...or...

You could snuggle down into you. Trust me...."nicking the duvet from over yourself" takes some getting used to!

I am so grateful you have got in touch. It makes me feel i am not alone. That the world that goes on around me with it madness and coffuddleness, doesn't have to be that way.

Thank you Hawkfan.

Be peaceful, be healthy and be strong. Loveness to you Hawkfan

Good afternoon Hawkfan. Bright blessings to you.

How goes it my friend?

You may be a busy person, i'm a busy body. I like to stick my nose into peoples business.

If alcohol gets a grip on you, THATS the time to post. Get it out. Nothing shocks this family.

When i first came and joined this family 2 things happened.

First, i....on my todd.....found my fingers typing into google....."alcohol addiction..help!"

Second i got messages that were "not of my world". (You're welcome...we care...we understand...yeah right!)

We do. This is not the bits and bobs of wisdom Tryn has, i simply could not believe how many wonderful folk, had "thought, felt, had, didnt have" just the same as me. I felt coming here would make it all go away. Some one would say...."push that button there"....oh right.....now the machine that is me works.

We are not machines. We are beautiful human bods that struggle at times to find our way. Those people are as many as problems.

However Hawkfan.....have you ever considered why it is that planet earth has an atmosphere and no other planets do?

Unresolved problems my friend. If we solved them....we'd all float off.

Get in touch.

Be peaceful, be healthy and be strong. Loveness to you Hawkfan

Hi hawkfan12, I would just guess that you already have the best gift you could get for your son-a dad who is getting his life together! Be proud of yourself, and if you can spend time with your son at Christmas-maybe the two of you go to a movie, have lunch and just enjoy time together. I am so happy that you are on the path you are on now. Just keep putting one foot in front of the other and continue on. Slow and steady gets the job done, one day at a time!
