Hi Mr. Cubby, I wanted to Welome you to the forum and hope you will keep us posted on how things are going, give feedback etc.... I think any avenue you can use to help is a great way to not pick up , one minute, one hour one day at a time if that is what it takes.

Congrats on 5 weeks ! You should be proud of yourself!
Please take care and post when you can, Hope You are having a Happy New Year !! Carly

i'm new to this. may 7 of this year i fell down some stairs of course i was very intoxicated. have been drinking heavily for years. as a result i cracked my head open and needed surgery. before i go further i am just looking for another ave. of support along w/ mtgs. family and the true friends i have. (only counted on one hand and not using all my fingers) long road to recovery from surgery and my addiction. i in all honesty am stubborn and have fallen. but have been sober now for 5 wks. and 3 days. today i'm avoiding going out to avoid temptation. am enjoying the company of my long time wife who much to my surprise at first stuck with me thru this and has put up with my b.s. while iwas being a donkey. she's been putting the perverbial boot up when i'm starting to slip.
