Default Sub and the liver

Hi to all, day 14 and still doing great. Once again thank you for all your support. I have a sister, she is 73, she became addicted to pain meds during 3 surgerys, I feel so bad for her, any way she is on 32 mg of sub and doing ok but she thinks maybe the sub is affecting her liver. Has anyone heard of this before. Thank you for your answer. Blessings to all

Hi tara, congratulations on 2 weeks! Good to hear you're doing well.

Bupe isn't considered to be hard on a healthy liver. Those with already compromised livers should have their enzymes checked regularly to be on the safe side.

Here's what the experts say:

Here's an older thread on bupe and the liver.

Is your sister having any symptoms, how long has she been taking 32mg, has she tried to reduce any?

Nancy
